3:6 Breathing

Mind-ful-ness | noun

1.     The quality or state of being conscious or aware of something.

Life is stressful.  Mindful Breathing is a breathing exercise that releases endorphins from the brain to promote relaxation and calm.  Relieving stress from the body gives us more energy to get through our stressful days.  Releasing tension from the muscles decreases pain.  Once mindful, breathing relaxes our system, and blood flow increases, allowing us to focus and think clearly.

Try this Mindful Breathing exercise three times per day (breakfast, lunch, and dinner) for 60 seconds:

Sit still in a comfortable chair or lie down

Breathe in deeply through your nose and from your diaphragm for 3 counts slowly

Hold it

Then breathe out slowly for 6 counts

 Repeat for 60 seconds

This is just one step in retraining the brain to be at a more peaceful state.
